Heart of Gold

(Adventure/Comedy/Drama) Pitch & Outline, Early 1900s, Prospecting Town.

 EMILY, is a young abused wife and mother in a time when it is illegal for women to work. One day she must flee for her life, and stows away on a passing coach into a rough miner's town that offers her nothing but rape in prostitution to survive... or death. She teams up with a spiritually wounded Native man called THE PAWS to instead find their fortune together in prospecting, yet for Emily the greatest treasure is gaining her independence, and returning for her children she had to leave behind.

Development Plan

Outline and story structure complete. Loosely inspired by Clark's grandmother, background imagery, history, themes are very solid.

 Clark plans to visit the north regions of Manitoba where her grandmother was a prospector to further inspire story development.
